Interview 1. Barwick, being interviewed by Radio Central after a 5 1/2 week visit to South East Asia, explains the Australian position on a dispute between Papua New Guinea and Indonesia, who had deployed troops into West New Guinea, Barwick felt that the Indonesians were well aware of the principles of the Bunker Plan and that they had publicly stated let the Papuans to exercise self-determination, Barwick stresses that the Australian viewpoint was made clear and received assurance from the Indonesian Foreign Minister that they had no claim on any Australian territory.
