MS 5529 comprises: Back of Browlee: the history of Moruya district, New South Wales, an annotated typescript covering the period 1870-1943, containing maps, illustrations and a bibliography (71 leaves); Albury, history notes and index to newspapers published in Albury by W.A. Bayley, (1954), for the years 1870-1954; a brief typescript history of the village of Jamberoo, New South Wales written by Bayley in 1952 (photocopy); letters to Bayley from "Jock" C.W. Gardiner-Garden written in 1972 concerning Fort Street High School in 1913-1918, and M.A. Cowling about Picton, Tasmania written in 1971; a number of postcards of England; newspaper cuttings; publications of the Illawarra Historical Society; and some black and white photographs relating to Oatley Methodist Church, with one of the "Flying Scotsman" at Parsons, Kansas, U.S.A. (1 box).

William Alan Bayley, a collector of local history, was a teacher with the New South Wales Education Department and a fellow of the Royal Australian Historical Society.
