The collection mainly consists of correspondence files relating to the constitution and by-laws of the organisation, its calendar, brochures and manuals, membership enquiries and policy, subscriptions, education courses in planning available in each state, overseas planning organisations, the employment of planners, salaries and fees for professionals, National Library of Australia and the STISEC report and correspondence with the state divisions. There are also card files of members, minutes of annual general meetings, committees and state divisions and annual reports. Finally, there are computer cards and printout of tabulations from the 1966 national census. Added 1979: Obituary on Walter Bunning, Obituary on Alfred John Brown, and 3 deceased members' files on John P. Tate, Malcolm Moir, and John Noble Rogers.

Professional organisation representing qualified planners throughout Australia. The administration and presidency rotates to a different state every two years. Current administration (1976-1978) is in Sydney and it is probable that the administration from August 1978 to 1980 will be in Canberra.
