Correspondence and draft poems of James Brunton Stephens, bound in two volumes, one of 252 pages containing the correspondence and the other of 105 pages containing the poems. The items cover the period from approximately 1877-1902.
- Biography/History:

Born in Scotland, educated at Edinburgh University, the poet Brunton Stephens migrated to Queensland in 1866. He became a headmaster before entering the Chief Secretary's Department, becoming its undersecretary. Several of his poems were published in 1885, 1888, 1902 and 1912.
