The papers consist of correspondence, speeches, parliamentary papers, cuttings, and photographs, and covers such subjects as Aborigines, defence, the Ottawa Agreements, and the Liberal and Country League. There are also some early papers covering Hawker's school and university years. The correspondence includes letters from members of the Hawker family, personal friends, and constitutents, and the correspondents include S. Bruce, J.A. Lyons and Daisy Bates.
