Includes a large number of theatre programmes relating to Australia and overseas, a large quantity of postcards sent from all over the world, slides taken by Mr Howlett, shipping magazines and material relating to Melbourne Grammar School where Mr Howlett taught. Also diaries, correspondence, journals, memorabilia, and printed matter.

Biography/History:

Born in 1897 in Melbourne, Mr. Howlett studied law at Melbourne University, but spent his life teaching. Travelled overseas as an English teacher on migrant ships. In the late 1930's he took up a teaching position at Melbourne Grammar, which he held for the rest of his life.
