28 letters from Alexander Collie to his brother George which, in addition to describing the early development of the Swan River settlement, give an account of his voyage to Fremantle on H.M. Sloop Sulphur, Feb.- June 1829, of his participation in the exploration of the country and of his term of residence at King George Sound.
- Biography/History:

Physician and explorer: Collie sailed on H.M.S. Sulphur to Swan River in 1829. On arrival he participated in the exploration of the country. In May 1831 he was sent as Government Resident to King George Sound where he also acted as first government medical officer. At the end of 1832 he returned to Perth and became Colonial Surgeon.
