Bound volume of a photocopied journal in Swedish of Lagergren's experiences in Victoria between 1853-1859 including descriptions of the Victorian goldminers and Indigenous Australians. Biographical notes on Carl Lagergren and his brother Nils Gustaf Lagergren and three Swedish letters with English summaries from Nils Lagergren to his family dated 1851, 1853 and 1854. Also contains brief English translation of each chapter's contents and a photograph of Carl Lagergren.

Carl Lagergren was a farmer from Sweden who went to America in 1850 with his brother, and then on to Australia in 1853 prospecting for gold. He returned to Sweden in 1859 where he lived for the rest of his life.
