Records of Hay Internment Camp, 1940-1941 [manuscript]

MS 5392 comprises papers kept by Rabbi Leib Aisack Falk who visited internees at Hay in December 1940. They consist of magazines produced by the internees; submissions to Chief Justice Jordan and to the United Kingdom High Commissioner by the internees and to the Jewish Welfare Society by Rabbi Falk; a notebook kept by Falk; an exercise book titled "Camp 8" giving years of birth, nationalities, etc. for 943 internees; correspondence mainly to or from Falk; list of Talmudical students and two illustrated concert programs; and a watercolour of the Hay camp painted by Theodore Engel, 1941, and the pencil drawing "10 November, 1938" by H. Rothe, 1940 (1 box).
