Letter, 1853 Aug. 1 from Joshua Grant to his brother-in-law Thomas Tuck, Elizabeth St. Melbourne. Joshua has just seen his sister Margaret. Thomas Tuck's wife, and her children leave for Australia. 4 pp. [1 p. T.S.], letter is incomplete. 2. Letter, 1854 Mar.from Joshua Grant to his sister, Mrs. T. J. Tuck, now living in Elizabeth St. Melbourne. Mentions a little of sailing conditions and those of the colony, met by Margaret; comparative prices of bread in Australia and England, and the price of renting a house in the colony. Talks a great deal of the different kinds of mail between Australia and England, how long they take & the prices. Also discusses the political situation in Europe on the eve of Crimear war, 1854. 8 p. [4 pp. T.S.]. 3. Letter, 1854 from Harriett Bedding to Mrs. Tuck. (semi-illiterate) 2 pp. [1 p. T.S.].
