- Summary:
-
Robinson speaks of her childhood in Broome; the bombing of Broome during World War II and having to be evacuated several times; her removal during one of these evacuations when officers from the Dept. of Native Welfare separated her and she was flown to Perth to be placed in Sister Kate's Children's Home; she was then sent out from the Home as a domestic to work at a floristry farm in Kalamunda; while there she wrote to her father in Broome who organised to have her returned home; her view that removal has made the land claims in the Broome region confusing and contributed to poor relations between Indigenous and non-Indigenous residents in that region.
