Photographs documenting Corroboree 2000 (previously known as Aboriginal Reconciliation Day) a national event held on the first two days of National Reconciliation Week. On Saturday 27 May 2000 the Council for Aboriginal Reconciliation hosted a ceremony at the Sydney Opera House for 2000 guests to mark the achievements of the Council, and launch its final proposals for a document of reconciliation. The day included the Journey of Healing ceremony, arranged by the National Sorry Day Committee, where representatives of the Stolen Generation were invited to an inma (ceremonial dance) and presented with a pair of timpilypa (music sticks) painted with messages expressing the journey towards healing. On Sunday 28th May the People's Walk for Reconciliation took place across the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and was followed by public performances at Darling Harbour.
