- Summary:
-
"A growing body of international research confirms that domestic violence and child abuse frequently co-occur within the same families (e.g. Rosenbaum & O'Leary 1981; Hughes 1988; Stark & Flitcraft 1988; Bowker et al. 1990; McKernan 1994). From a review of this research, Edleson (2001) estimates that between 30 and 60 per cent of children whose mothers are subjected to domestic violence are also being abused. This is consistent with the findings of Australian research." -- p.1
