The collection comprises copies of 37 Blamey Memorial Oration addresses, coordinated by the Royal United Services Institute of Australia, and delivered by politicians, military dignitaries, governors-general, and public service managers between 1983 and 1999. Field Marshal Sir Thomas Albert Blamey was the first Australian born military commander to be appointed to the highest rank of Field Marshal in the Australian Military Forces, on 8 June 1950. The Blamey Memorial Orations are dedicated to his memory.
