Harry Kay, folk musician, born in Yorkshire in 1927, speaks about his family background; migrating to Australia with his parents when he was two; his parents' marriage break-up; living in a Boys' Home in Carlingford while his father was working in Lithgow; teaching himself the mouth organ; his apprenticeship as an electrical fitter; his colour blindness and its effects; riding a pushbike from Brisbane to Sydney in 1948; joining the Eureka Youth League; working in the New Theatre; the Bushwhackers; performing in the Reedy River play; how the Bush Music Club started; the formation of the Rambleers; the Unity Singers; learning and teaching music classes in guitar, mandolin; later learning classical guitar and teaching advanced and beginners classes; working as a music teacher in a catholic school; discusses his marriage.
