- Hand-drawn map of Macau, ca. 1940, probably by Vicente Pacia, from an original in Manuel de Faria e Sousa, Asia Portuguesa, Lisbon, 1703 (vol. 3, p. 362). The map emphasizes the city walls and several fortifications, rapidly completed following the unsuccessful Dutch attack in 1622. In the foreground is the Inner Harbour (Porto Interior), with Green Island (Ilha Verde) on the left. Orientation is north to left. Relief shown by shading.
