A piecewise-affine vector field is globally continuous and locally affine on each of the regions in a partition of the plane. The simplest partition of the plane is effected by dividing the plane by a single line. A continuous piecewise-affine vector field respecting this partition is affine on each of the regions of the partition. This thesis presents a number of sufficient conditions for the existence and nonexistence of periodic orbits for such continuous piecewise-affine vector fields.
