- Summary:
-
An analysis of the seed requirements for broad scale revegetation in Australia has concluded that in many priority catchments, demand for appropriate native seed will substantially exceed supply. This increases the risk of failure of planting programs in the short term or failure to achieve landcare and biodiversity goals in the medium to long term. To overcome this shortfall, a strategic investment framework is proposed that identifies opportunities for public and private sector investment in improving seed supply for revegetation work.
