- Summary:

Collection records rural life in Queensland and the achievements of the people of the Clermont region during the early twentieth century. The photographs, taken by Gordon Cumming Pullar, depict his family, their home town, Clermont in Central Queensland, and surrounding areas, and of Yeppoon, the beachside town where the family spent holidays. Subject matters include street scenes of Clermont, bridges, schools and convents, hotels, churches, shops, the post office, the town hall, railway station, lagoons and creeks in drought and flood, mines, a hospital and ambulance, maypole dancing, billy carts, bicycle and goat races, horse teams, a Sunday school picnic, shearing, wool pressing and wool transport and local Aboriginal people. Also included are photographs of hotels and a general store being winched by traction engine along timber rails from flood-prone flats to higher ground after the 1915 Clermont flood. Yeppoon photographs include street and beach scenes, Main Beach, The Bluff, hotels, sailing, Ross Creek, the State School and St Ursula's Convent. Other towns featured include Blair Athol, Peak Downs and Sandy Creek.

Gordon Cumming Pullar was born in Wales and after much travelling arrived at the Clermont diggings in 1898. in 1900 he bought a shop in Clermont selling bicycles and other items. He developed a keen interest in photography and continued to live in Clermont with his family until his death in 1934.
