II. Halifax Antiquarian Society - letter from Edmund Jowett (Melbourne), 1920 re Drake family genealogy. III. Loyal Georgian Society - letter of 1911 referring to world tour of Sheffield choir visiting Melbourne. IV. Miscellaneous documents. Includes labels for the display of Australian wool; correspondence from the Hirst family of Halifax consisting of Grace and Thomas Hirst's letters (at sea, New Plymouth, Taranaki, Wellington) describing life in New Zealand 1820-1896; 1921 Australian patent to W. & J. Glossop, road contractors, re improved method of dehydrating tar; documents relating to the proposed migration to Australia in 1925 of Hannah Hurd of Heptonstall as a domestic servant; Halifax Orchestral Society records giving details of matches played in England in 1899 by an Australian cricket team; Stansfeld family papers referring to conveyance of land in Nelson, New Zealand, 1850; and trade union papers of 1971 re emigration of Mrs Muriel J. Bateman to Mariangi Bay, Auckland and her pension.
