Jeff Corfield talks about his family; his education, leading to career in agricultural science; his interest in music, childhood influences, '60's folk revival; Newcastle folk clubs; being involved in Maitland Bush Band; collecting folklore around Newcastle; John Meredith, Pete Seeger; politics and sociology; moving to Perth and marrying there, the folk scene in Perth; a move to the Kimberley, Kununurra Research Station; racial conflicts; country music; collecting oral histories; moving to Darwin (1978); involvement in folk festivals and folk clubs, his projects and music; 'Uncle Val', recording sessions with him; N.T. archives; performing at National Folk Festival; Mill's Sisters; string band music; Darwin Festival (2002); Folk Federation and Folk Trust; Townsville Folk Music Club; Don Henderson; running workshops at National and Woodford festivals, intergenerational music; a trip to U.S.A., meeting Pete Seeger; Seaman Dan; the need to unite research and folk singers around Australia; use of theatre techniques in performance; working in Indonesia with his agriculture expertise: Indonesian string bands; his Mongolian and Chinese experiences; sings one of his compositions, 'Global Warming song.'
