William (Billy) and Herbert Mallard speak about their early lives and forbears; the research being carried out on connections with the Dutch and the wreck of the Zuytdorp; DNA testing. Billy talks about working in the mines and the hard conditions experienced. They talk on the fear of separation and its effect on the Indigenous culture of oral transmission; government attitudes; the establishment of their farming property.
