Rod Peters is a former submariner, born in the UK he joined the British Navy and later moved to Australia and the RAN. He describes his time in both naval services and in particular his service in submarines where he 'felt at home'; operations onboard submarines including his work as a Sonar operator; the folklore of submariners, nicknames, nicknames of rank, reviews onboard and the slang names for food;aspects of life aboard and the unique culture of the Submarine Service; his reasons for leaving the service and his involvement with the Holbrook Submarine Museum.
