-
- Stanford's Province of Victoria (Australia) showing counties, districts, railways, telegraphs, roads, towns, gold diggings, some stations and information on terrain. Relief shown by hachures and spot heights. Note that gold-diggings are not indicated in the legend or graphically on the map. This state is characterised by inclusion of the southern tip of the Australian Alps ending in the middle of the County of Haddington, and the inclusion of Mt. Valentin and Ben Crouchant (i.e. Ben Cruachan) along that part of the Range.
- Prime meridian: Greenwich.
- Publication date primarily estimated from list of other new titles issued by Stanford as shown on the inside cover. Other evidence is based primarily on the extent of the railroad system in Victoria: - the goldrush town of Burn Bank is shown also with its new name Lexton officially confirmed in 1854; the 1852 goldrush at Bendigo Creek (where the first Victorian post office was opened in a goldmining settlement), was renamed Sandhurst in 1854 (then Bendigo in 1891); the Geelong to Melbourne railway was built by the Geelong and Melbourne Railway Company in 1857; railroad passenger services from Batman's Hill Railway Station to Williamstown and Sunbury started in 1859.
