- Monochrome vertical aerial photograph of Strauss airfield (or airstrip), also known as 27 Mile or Humpty Doo airfield. Built between 19 March and 27 April 1942 by the US Army 808th Engineer Aviation Battalion, the strip was named for US Capt. Allison W. Strauss, who was killed during a Japanese raid on Darwin on 27 April 1942. Strauss strip was raided by the Japanese on 26 & 27 November 1942.
