This curriculum guide outlines materials and ideas for a one-year exploratory course in Spanish. In attempting to reach the broadest possible range of students in the community, emphasis is placed on individualized instruction, human relationships, options, and new processes for achieving greater comprehension and continuing understanding. The guide lists ten experiences, each in the form of a question. Outlines for the experiences suggest appropriate instructional goals, activities, techniques, and materials. The basic purpose of the course is to guide the student into a knowledge of Spanish culture. Activities that demonstrate the daily customs, manners, attitudes, cultural interests, and language of the people are the essential inredients of the course. The experiences serving as basic lesson themes are: (1) Who are you? How are you?, (2) Where are you?, (3) What do you do in class?, (4) What do you like in school?, (5) What do you like to do?, (6) How do you celebrate?, (7) What is your family like?, (8) What do you like to eat?, (9) Where do you want to travel? What do you want to see?, and (10) Who's who in the Hispanic world? A bibliography is included. (RL)
