- Summary:
-
The Birkman Method is proprietary, and consists of a battery of psychological instruments, an occupational interest survey, and associated reports, a self-awareness seminar based on the questionnaire, and the supporting computer software and data banks. The questions and occupations are designed to explore basic areas of a person's values, motives, and interests related to how a person adapts to and copes with life situations. In the Birkman Seminar individuals share their reports with their peers in a small group lead by a lay leader. The primary goal of the research at Austin College was to explore the possibilities of adaptation for general use with a college-age population within an academic program. This document reports the history and progress of the project. (Author/KE)
