Difficulties in implementing the EXCHECK/Voice Oriented Curriculum Author Language (VOCAL) System, a general program designed for university-level computer-assisted instruction in mathematics and science written in the VOCAL language, are presented in terms of informal mathematical procedures, audio and prosodic features, and a schedule of proposed research. A full bibliography of presentations and publications supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF) during the grant, a sample proof, reduction proof procedures, and references are appended.
