Developed by teachers who had been trained in the teaching of the writing process, this curriculum guide is designed to help teachers gain the skills necessary for effective writing instruction. The seven sections of the guide provide the following information: (1) the basic assumptions and guidelines of the curriculum; (2) an explanation of the various stages of the writing process; (3) a discussion of the expressive forms of writing; (4) lesson plans for grade one through twelve; (5) descriptions of writing activities that are designed to be completed in one day; (6) an explanation of holistic evaluation of writing, with sample student papers; and (7) a summary of some of the important research concerning the writing process.
