- Summary:
-
"Con Colleano, 'The Wizard of the Wire,' was an Indigenous tightrope walker from New South Wales; after several performances in South Africa, he adopted the Spanish toreador persona he'd carry for the rest of his career. He was soon noticed by Ringling Bros. & Barnum & Bailey Circus, where he performed for many years before the war. This poster finds him at the close of World War II performing with the Cole Bros. Circus, which suffered two circus-train crashes that year." -Poster Auctions International, sale 78, June 2019.
