Data on the employment of minority faculty and staff and on minority students in Colorado public higher education are provided for fiscal year (FY) 1985-1986. For universities, comprehensive and general baccalaureate colleges, two-year colleges, and special institutions, the following occupational groups are covered: executive, administrative, and managerial; faculty; professional nonfaculty; clerical and secretarial; technical and paraprofessional; service/maintenance, and skilled craft. Findings include the following: at public institutions, the minorities held 10.9% of the executive, administrative, and managerial jobs in 1985-1986; minorities currently account for 6.7% of faculty employment; minorities made up 5.6% of the tenured faculty, 7.8% of the nontenured, tenure-track faculty, and 8.7% of the other faculty; minority enrollment, which is at its highest level in 4 years, increased 8.8% in 1985-1986; however, the minority share of total enrollment has remained between 11% and 12% over the past 4 years; and minorities share of the associate level degree has been less than 8% during the last 4 years.
