This consumer guide presents updated information on many of the systems and software programs that are currently available to and used by vocational evaluators. Software included in the book was selected through contacting all known developers for information and product samples for review. The guide is organized in four sections. The first section profiles 18 vocational evaluation systems; each description includes the following: precis, a description, information on administration of the software, information on scoring, interpreting and reporting results, measurement data, and a summary and review. The second section profiles 12 job search computer programs. Software descriptions include the following: precis and information on development, comprehensiveness and use, utility, user friendliness, documentation, hardware, and cost. The third section of the guide presents a summary of the results of a user satisfaction survey of systems and software, with ratings and comments about software programs' strengths, weaknesses, and recommended changes. The final section lists 20 questions that consumers may use to evaluate software for potential purchase. The guide includes a list of 29 references and a glossary of 38 terms used in vocational evaluation, with extensive definitions. (KC)
