Correspondence with Eric Russell of Angus and Robertson, Green's publishers, dealing with the publishing of Green's "A history of Australian literature pure and applied". Some correspondence relating to the University of Sydney, various literary periodicals and competitions and lecture series on Australian literature. The major part of the collection consists of letters from Australian writers discussing their work and various aspects of Australian literature.

H. M. Green was Librarian of University of Sydney, 1921-1946. He was also a noted authority on Australian literature and wrote works of literary criticism as well as some poetry.
