Papers of Edward Campbell were compiled mainly while a member of the Social Change Advisory Committee of the Dept. of External Territories and as a consultant to the Psychological Services Branch of the Public Service Board in the Territory of Papua and New Guinea. The papers include reports by Campbell, correspondence, minutes, agenda papers, notes, newspaper cuttings, articles, photographs and other papers. Topics covered by the papers include Gazelle Peninsula land issues, indigenous wages, supervisory attitudes of indigenes in the Public Service, urbanisation, Family Planning Program, manpower, trade unionism, C. R. A. mining rights in Bougainville, attitudes to the police and armed services, and public relations of the Territory Administration generally.
- Biography/History:

Psychologist. Campbell was Director of Psychology with the Australian Army Psychology Corps, 1946-67. After his retirement from the Army he was a consultant psychologist for the Dept. of External Territories, advising on matters relating to the Territory of Papua and New Guinea.
