This document is a summary of "Benchmarks for Science Literacy", which is a supporting document of "Science for All Americans" published by the American Association for Advancement of Science (AAAS) as part of Project 2061. "Benchmarks for Science Literacy" consists primarily of statements regarding what all students should know and be able to do in science, mathematics, and technology by the end of grades two, five, eight, and twelve. The purpose of this summary is to answer frequently asked questions about "Benchmarks for Science Literacy".
