White students earned more than half of the degrees and certificates awarded, followed by Hispanic, Asian, and African American students (52%, 21%, 13%, and 7%, respectively). The third and fourth tables display the number of degrees, awards, and certificates completed by discipline and occupation. Community colleges in California awarded a total of 61,008 associate's degrees and 25,391 certificates. This is an increase of 470 degrees and a decrease of 884 certificates compared with the prior year.
