- Printed letter in which Levi discusses the complexities of compiling his work, "Commercial law" and talks of the need to codify the commercial law of Great Britain and to form an international code of commerce. The letter is to enclose copies of an address by Prince Albert supporting this which Levi requests the recipient to circulate among his friends. Levi also calls for the formation of a society entitled: The British Association for Promoting the National and International Code of Commerce Among All Civilised Countries"
