- Summary:
-
Today's simulation technology allows warfighters to participate in a continuous training cycle to maintain a high state of combat readiness by using cost-effective simulation alternatives in conjunction with live-fly operations and training missions. In the USA current development of Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) systems for training and mission rehearsal and the rapid advancement of networking technologies and protocol standards/architectures have contributed to a synthetic environment where multi-force Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) joint/coalition exercises have become an everyday reality. For the ADF to participate in such a capability corporate interoperability standards, processes, common applications and databases need to be developed. This report discusses a strategy to enable the ADF to begin to progress towards such a highly interoperable, LVC synthetic environment where a first important step is the development of a suitable set of ADF corporate LVC interoperability standards.
