-
- Map of Victoria showing counties, railways, towns and some pastoral stations. Relief shown by hachures.
- Bottom right corner: Fisk & Co. Engr's N.Y.
- Probably from an atlas. Verso was blank, but with a very faint impression of the next page showing what looks like the Albert Memorial, London.
- Map includes many placenames that never became official, e.g. Bumshells SE of Hamilton, Edinhope near Warrnambool, and Fort O'Hare (Major Mitchell's name for his 1836 camp near Dartmoor). Map includes many placenames mislocated or misspelled, e.g. L. Albacuyta instead of Lake Albacutya; Woolathorpe instead of Woolsthorpe; Franksten instead of Frankston; C. Liptzap instead of Cape Liptrap; Welchpool instead of Welshpool; Jenoa R. instead of Genoa River; Easton instead of Euston, NSW; Tuma instead of Tooma, NSW; Moama, NSW, is displaced east, south of the Murray inside Victoria. Yass is shown, and the Queanbeyan River, but neither Queanbeyan nor Canberra towns.
