Summary:

MS Acc12.137 comprises seven Australian aeronautical maps from the 1940s (some are annotated), which were issued to Eugene Marosszeky during the 1954 Australian eastern states Redex air race and two volumes, compiled by Eugene Marosszeky's son, Peter. The volumes provide a comprehensive account of the Redex 1954 aircraft reliability trial event and include copies and original documents (such as log books, flight plans and images) formerly belonging to Eugene Marosszeky, and a DVD containing scanned copies of the maps relating to the 1954 event. Peter Marosszeky has also provided information about his parents in the volumes, particularly his father Eugene, who was also a pilot with the Luftwaffe in WWII (1 folio box, 4 map folios).

Biography/History:

Peter Marosszeky is the Director of Aerospace Developments Pty. Ltd. and Adjunct Senior Lecturer and Visiting Fellow of the Faculty of Science, School of Aviation at UNSW Sydney and is the son of Eugene Marosszeky, an aviator who participated in the 1954 Round Australia Redex Aircraft Reliability trial in a Tiger Moth. Eugene Marosszeky was also a pilot with the Luftwaffe during World War II.
