a| Judge. John Angus Nimmo was born at Ballarat, Victoria in 1909. He studied at the University of Melbourne and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1957. He was appointed additional justice of the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory in 1969-1974. From 1972-1974 he was Chief Justice of Fiji. He was appointed judge of the Federal Court of Australia from 1977 until 1980. Nimmo was awarded a knighthood in 1972 for services to the law and government.
