Different images appear in each letter of "SOUTH" which appears vertically in the centre of the poster - S shows people walking on a beach with fur seals; O shows a view of the Flinders Ranges; U shows a festival, with people dancing around a maypole; T shows the Murray River Queen paddle steamer at night; H shows a twilight view of the Adelaide city skyline. "South Australia" appears in orange letters at the foot of the poster. "Take a look at the real Australia. South Australia. the friendly South, the rugged South, the festive South, the gentle South, the civilised South" appears in white lettering to the right of the image towards the foot of the poster.
