- Summary:

1) Journal kept by Brennand aboard the clipper ship Harbinger during a voyage from England to Adelaide, Aug.-Nov. 1883. Gives an account of conditions on board, weather experienced, and the diarist's impressions of the crew and his fellow passengers. The journal concludes with a list of passengers on board, together with a list of deaths among the passengers. A typescript copy of the journal follows the manuscript version. 2) Two letters from members of the Preston family 1860-61, written from Heathcote, Victoria. 3) Fifteen letters from America, 1842-57, written by members of the Hopkinson and Livesey families.
