- Summary:
-
An artist's book consisting of a single folded sheet loosely enclosed in a folder. The statement of responsibility is conventionally handwritten in pencil, but the title and the rest of the text appear in mirror image (reproduced from monotype plates). On his website, Day explains that the book is based on an incident in a Toronto park, Allan Gardens, where he went to draw some squirrels. "I sat on the grass got my paper and ink out and began to draw ... then a naked woman sat down in front of me and struck a pose." The reversed text in the book outlines the incident in slightly less detail, but reveals Day's astonishment and what happened next: "Allen Gardens, Toronto; I was there drawing, and a woman sat down in front of me - she was nude! So I went home and ate." Illustrated with a colour monoprint picture of a seated nude woman with her knees raised and black felt appliqué pubic hair; a monoprinted yellow sun on the other side of the sheet is captioned "Noon, 31/08/10" with a stylus removing ink from the block.
