"Over the past two years, NSW Health has improved access to pain management services for the people of NSW. The NSW Pain Management Plan developed in 2012 drives a cohesive, consistent, state-wide approach to pain management. Patients in NSW now have better access to treatment with the establishment of four new regional pain services. Access to pain management resources has also improved with the development of the Agency for Clinical Innovation's (ACI) Pain Management Network website, offering information and support to patients and healthcare providers while implementation of a new modal of care has seen waiting times reduce by one third. A consistent and holistic approach to pain management is now established across NSW, a significant step towards providing effective and lasting pain management for many sufferers."
