This collection comprises Victor Rebikoff's papers relating to his various roles and activities as a community leader with several multicultural organisations. Included are reports, papers and correspondence created during his time with the Federation of Ethnic Communities' Council of Australia (FECCA) relating to the Racial Hatred Bill 1994, the opening of the National Office, conference papers, event files including FECCA 20th Anniversary celebrations; material relating to Victor's 50th Anniversary of Australian citizenship; Australian Multicultural Foundation events; material relating to the campaign to bring SBS television to Canberra; his papers from his time with the National Multicultural Advisory Council; and some photographs (5 boxes).

Victor Alexander Rebikoff was born in Malaysia on 17 November 1944 to Russian parents. The family migrated to Perth in 1952. He worked for the Department of Foreign Affairs in Canberra from 1966. He worked in Timor, Portugal, Papua New Guinea between 1968 and 1974. In 1975 he was sent to Portuguese Timor and was present during the coup and the outbreak of civil war. He later worked for the Department of Defence and the Department of Equal Opportunity. He then worked for the ACT Government in various roles relating to multicultural and ethnic affairs. He has worked with several community organisations including as Secretary and later President of the Ethnic Communities Counil (ECC) of the ACT (later renamed the ACT Multicultural Council). He helped initiate the first Multicultural Australia Day Festival in Canberra. He served on the Federal Goverment's Migration Settlement Advisory Council between 1990-1993. In 1992 he was elected as the Chairperson of the Ethnic Communities Councils of Australia (FECCA) and was involved in an extensive range of intiatives and reforms relating to multicultural affairs in Australia. He served on the SBS Community Advisory Committee from 1993-1995. He was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for Services to Migrants in 1989.
