Records of Kooringarama Films Inc., including stills of the film "Borrowed Plumes.' Correspondence regarding the broadcasting of radio plays and the publication of other works. Research notes, handwritten drafts and typescripts of scripts, verse and articles. Programmes for stage plays featuring Mather, and for the Melbourne Cricket Club Centenary Celebrations organized by Mather in 1938. Family correspondence from the war years. Photographs. Issues of some Army publications: Puckapunyal, WASE and Tobruk Truth, as well as post war issues of Toruk Echo.

D.H. Mather, an amateur actor, film-maker, radio-writer and author, played an active role in the development of broadcasting and popular entertainment in Melbourne. In 1927, he helped form the Kooringarama Films Company which produced one film "Borrowed Plumes" - based on one of Mather's radio plays. However Mather achieved his greatest success writing for radio, and many of his plays and serials were broadcast on the ABC and commercial networks.
