'In 1993, as part of the requirements to report on the implementation of the National Action Plan for the education of girls 1993-97, all education systems provided details of programs relevant to the National Action Plan priority of improving teaching practice. These programs addressed the following indicator for this priority: The number of programs funded by systems to research and document teaching practice which specifically targets the active participation of girls in learning. The response form systems was such that descriptions of these programs are published separately in this document for information and access by system-level and classroom practitioners. An overview of these programs is contained in the main report "Girls in Schools 1993", published by the Ministerial Council on Education, Employment, Training and Youth Affairs (formerly the Australian Education Council)' - p. 1.
