MS 10158 includes correspondence and photographs from Grace and Edith Wyly, sister and niece of Reverend William MacFarlane, who served with the Australian Board of Missions in the Torres Strait Islands from 1917-1934. The collection comprises of an album of captioned photographs taken in 1921-1922 by MacFarlane's sister Grace Wyly showing daily life on Thursday Island, Murray Island, Yorke Island and Dauan Island, recording crafts, dance, church, landscape, and traditional activities, and including portraits of the Mosby, MacFarlane Lui families; letters written by Elma Mosby to Edith Wyly between 1926-1933 (the album contains a captioned photograph of the two girls holding hands); a postcard from Darnley Island; undated manuscript by Edith Wyly; black and white portrait of William MacFarlane dated 1907 on verso (1 small folio box).
