Nina Bianchini, home duties, was born in Queenstown, Tas. to Calabrian Italian parents. She speaks about her early years in Mt Lyell, Tas. where her father worked as a miner. She recalls her father being interned during WW II for nine months; how her grandfather who came to Leeton, N.S.W. in 1922 was one of the first Italians in the area; how her family moved from Tasmania to Leeton, N.S.W. after the war; her school days in Leeton. Bianchini speaks about the Calabrian traditions still carried on by Italian migrant families who had settled in Leeton; her work on the family farm.
